“Identity Crisis” delves into a doomed ethos, as Twin Cynic shifts the gaze inward to find meaning. With lyrics heavily centered on finding peace in the world and a tiny bit of comfort, the songs highlight the romantic notion of needing to belong, of wanting to be needed. Riffs rage through, both on guitar and synthesizer, creating a cinematic flair that ties the entire journey together.

Twin Cynic is the solo project of TJ Higgs, exploring themes of self, loneliness, image and performance, through his own unique brand of synth-laden alt-rock with elements of darkwave and post-punk.
It's Depeche Mode meets Killing Joke, with a touch of Joy Division and Interpol.
A long background of performing in metal bands has led to a desire to explore the softer, more emotional side of music, but the darker edge has not been lost.
"It is a testament to Twin Cynic’s previous involvement in gothic doom band Edenfall and the blackened death metal band Promethean Reign that he can translate those previous experiences into something this different."
His first EP 'Pale Imitation' went from concept to release in just three days, driven by a need to create, to explore a different genre. Follow-up album 'Identity Crisis' takes a more in depth, considered look at the never ending performance of modern society, and how we experience and relate to the world around us.
With a full length release to show the world, Twin Cynic is looking to expand into the live domain and spread the message that we are all outsiders together.
