I’ve been posting on Instagram every time something new comes up (mostly it’s been tour-related), but I left the old site untended for a long time … However there’s been a lot of action recently, and there are some good things brewing, so it’s time to see if I can get back on the digital horse, make something a little more user-friendly happen here, and hopefully keep this thing a little more current.
The immediate big news: for much of the rest of 2026, I will be playing solo acoustic sets as direct support for the Sugar “Love You Even Still” reunion tour across the continental US. I have already had the honor and pleasure of opening this tour for almost 4 weeks across the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, and Northern Europe from late May through the first half of June - one of the best and most enjoyable tours of my life - and I’m beyond excited to continue in the US.
For this tour, I’ve made a limited run of self-released solo acoustic CDs, which I recorded earlier this year, and which is streamable here but will only be available for purchase at the shows. It’s a document of the solo set, since the solo acoustic versions of these songs differ pretty widely from the recorded band versions.
In other happenings, at the end of 2025, 30 Something Records issued new vinyl pressings of the two Burning Airlines records, Mission:Control! and Identikit. The initial pressings sold quickly and they are now into a second run. To celebrate, J. Robbins (band) played a series of Burning Airlines sets toward the end of 2025, and we intend to continue playing occasional Burning Airlines sets in the future, including this coming September 9 at the 2026 Riot Fest in Chicago IL.
Brooks Harlan, Peter Moffett, and I also spent some time throughout 2025 working up new material toward a third J. Robbins record, which is moving slowly but inexorably toward completion. Really really psyched about where these tunes are going. More on this soon, I hope.
On the studio front, late congratulations (late because I'm only just putting up this website now) are due to Sparta on the release of the phenomenal record we made together last year, and also to Cor De Lux, who recently joined the roster of Ipecac Records to release the full-length I helped them make, and to Baltimore's own Quattracenta for the recent vinyl release of their first full-length, which was an absolute joy to record. I've been managing to stay busy in the studio between all the other stuff going on, among many other things finishing up full-length #2 with the always awesome American Motors, due to be released ... when? Sometime soon I hope, it's a killer. I've also had an increasing number of exciting mix projects coming through. I'm super psyched to have new mixes in the calendar for a couple of records that I consider absolute classics - will spill the beans on these when I can ... but not yet.
Always grateful for all of it, and of course to you for checking in here.
